Asbestos Worker Initial
July 11-14 (In-person in Pueblo, Colorado)
Course description: Start your career in asbestos abatement. Gain the professional skills you need to succeed in the performance of asbestos abatement and removal projects.
As a minimum requirement for the performance of asbestos abatement activities, the initial asbestos worker certificate is the ideal solution for anyone looking to start their career in the asbestos industry. This course will instruct the student on abatement in all areas of public, commercial, private, industrial, educational, governmental, and residential buildings/sites and give information on how to properly remove asbestos-containing building materials (ACBMs) and asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) under the oversight of an asbestos abatement supervisor. With this certification, the student will be eligible for entry-level asbestos abatement worker/handler jobs.
July 5 – 8 (In-person in Pueblo, CO)
The 40 hr HAZWOPER training was created by OSHA for regular site workers (such as equipment operators, general laborers, and supervisory personnel) engaged in hazardous substance removal or other activities which expose or potentially expose workers to hazardous substances and health hazards. In addition, on-site management and supervisors directly responsible for, or who supervise employees engaged in, hazardous waste operations should take this 40 hr initial course.
Additionally, some specific removal activities such as Methamphetamine Lab Decontamination and Mercury Abatement require HAZWOPER training although not specified in the HAZWOPER standard directly.
NOTE: Students must attend BOTH classes in order to qualify for free tuition. Students must register before attending and be available for immediate employment in Colorado.
This program is FREE to attendees and includes:
- CDPHE Worker State Test Fee
- Qualitative Fit Test
- Basic Equipment and ½ Face Respirator + Cartridges
- Hardhat, Safety Vest, Safety Glasses
