hazardous chemicals

To protect workers who handle or work near hazardous waste, OSHA established a set of health and safety standards known as Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER).

Our HAZWOPER training courses teach how to handle these materials safely, and all meet OSHA requirements.

The 40-hour HAZWOPER Initial course is for people who are directly engaged in hazardous substance removal. These are workers who will be required to wear a respirator and are more likely to be exposed to hazardous materials. We also teach an online HAZWOPER 40 course.

The HAZWOPER Initial 24-Hour course is designed for workers who don't have regular or heavy exposure to hazardous materials. This HAZWOPER 24 training is OSHA-certified, and covers such topics as pertaining to work place hazards associated with Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER). Again, there's an online version, too.

For those who have taken the full course and just need an update, CHC Training also offers a 8 Hour HAZWOPER Refresher course. Both in-person and online versions are available.

Our OSHA HAZWOPER training courses are listed below. Click to see details on the topics covered in each course.
