This entry level course gives the student a basic overview on response and control methods available to address issues associated with viruses and bacteria including the current Coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Topics include personal protection equipment, contamination response and remediation methods, stakeholder communication, and provides a comprehensive source for resources from the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), John’s Hopkins University, and the Occupational Safety and Health Organization (OSHA). Upon completion, students will receive a certificate from CHC Training valid for 1 year.

This contractor level course gives the student a basic overview on response and control methods available to address issues associated with viruses and bacteria including the current Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).  Topics include personal protection equipment, contamination response and remediation methods, stakeholder communication, and provides a comprehensive source for resources from the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), John’s Hopkins University, and the Occupational Safety and Health Organization (OSHA). Upon completion, students will receive a certificate such as the one below from CHC Training valid for 1 year.

  • OSHA’s Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards (in general industry, 29 CFR 1910 Subpart I), which require using gloves, eye and face protection, and respiratory protection when job hazards warrant it.
    • When respirators are necessary to protect workers, employers must implement a comprehensive respiratory protection program in accordance with the Respiratory Protection standard (29 CFR 1910.134).
